Common dimensions

  • Height: often around 1.5 m from the base of the roof to the top of the dormer.
  • Width: usually tailored to a number of window frame sections (1, 2, 3 or more).
  • Distance to the sides of the roof plane: often a minimum of 0.5 m.
  • Distance to the ridge: usually a minimum of 0.5 m.

Aesthetic review (welstand) guidelines often contain deviating or stricter dimensions. The dimensions are always tailored to the specific location and the existing roof.
