Houten dakkapel

A wooden dormer is clad with wooden parts, often made from durable wood types. It fits well with classical architecture and in aesthetic review (welstand) areas where materials must match the original buildings.

Types of wood

For outdoor applications, spruce with opaque paint, Western Red Cedar, or Accoya wood are most commonly used. Each type has its own durability class and maintenance schedule.
